    This is the traditional method of transcription which is still very popular.  Simply post your tapes or deliver them to Virtual Business Solutions for transcribing.
                  
    Digital Transcription
    Equipment:    
    Olympus AS3000 System (Digital Transcription)      

    This method of transcription is becoming increasingly popular, the principles are exactly the same as with cassette transcription, i.e. the you record into a recorder and I will transcribe the file.  The difference being that the information is no longer saved to a cassette, instead a sound file is created.  The format may be DSS (Digital Speech Standard), or WAV (Waveform audio file).  You then simply plug the digital recorder into your PC and then download or e-mail the file to myself for transcription.

    Some of the advantages are:
    -    You will not have to worry about cassettes being lost or damaged in the post.
    -    E-mail is instant, record your file and e-mail it immediately to me for transcription.

    Please note that the quality of the recording can have an impact on the length of time it takes to transcribe a tape or file.  Regional accents and the number of people speaking should also be taken into consideration.  Generally we speak four times faster than we can type, therefore it could take approximately 4 hours to transcribe a 1 hour tape.

  • Word Processing
    Using MS Word, all your word processing needs can be met, in a variety of formats and layouts to suit you.
